Default Question regarding takes

Hey everyone,

To start thanks for taking the time to read this. I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find a solution, but I could be possibly not searching the correct terms of the takes system.

I really like the take system but the only way for me to add takes is to play on my midi controller. I use takes to basically store my lead synth data, which allows me to cycle through ideas or concepts I've been working on. Sometimes my controller isn't always with me and I have no real way of creating additional takes without recording.

I was curious if there was a shortcut where you could add extra takes without recording any midi (basically like adding a new midi object but for takes).

I love making melodies but I would love to be able to toggle through a bunch of my ideas that I've penciled in without having multiple tracks.

Thanks so much again!

Hello! And welcome.

In the main view (Arrange View) Actions List (main menu) there are two actions that you might like:

Item: add an empty take lane after the active take, and
Item: add an empty take lane before the active take

You can assign keyboard shortcuts to these, then in Arrange view add empty takes.

There is also an action Duplicate active take.

These might help you?
