Default Enable red track while recording instead of a ruler

Is it possible to implement a recording mode like in a Сubase?

Perhaps you could make a custom action that would do that but I doubt it would be as same and easy as original in Cubase. Instead I know that with SWS addition you can make arrange window ruler red when recording is going on.

If you are interested in making some workaround custom action let me know so I will check that in Reaper and try to figure out if it is possible to make such.

When you press the record button in Cubase, any track lights up in red. You correctly pointed out to me the SWS option, but is it possible to implement it with a track, and not a ruler, or should it be implemented in the program code (not a script)?

Here is example that you can achieve something similar with SWS Cycle Actions using also some Reapack scripts. Unfortunately you would have to set custom color 1 to red manually or ask somone to write you simple script to color track to red.
