Default switching midi from track to plugin

How do you get midi to switch from a track to a plugin when I open the plugin?

Right now midi controls just the track, not the plugin when the plugin is opened.

Just looking for some help here!

Musicality.

PS: I originaly posted this question in the MIDI Hardware, Control Surfaces, and OSC forum. Got no answers there, so I've reposted here.

Track armed and monitoring enabled? Yes? Then maybe your plugin expects a different channel than the one your MIDI is coming from.

In other words, MIDI coming into a track should always reach the plugins on the track or something is not set up right.

Well you know that when you enable this box in the plugin midi learn menu, the midi will only effect the open plugin:

Enable only when effect configuration is focused

Well I want the midi to just work on tracks when the main reaper window is opened. I want to freely swap between tracks and plugins without having to change midi settings.

Again, thanks for your help FoxAsteria.

OK I think I see. You should install ReaLearn. There is a feature just for that. It can change behavior automagically based on plugin focus. You can have a default setup and then it will switch based on what plugin is focused. Also a lot more flexible MIDI learn.
