Tracker Style Midi Editor (Jeskola Buzz Style)
Hi,
after more than a decade of craving for EXACTLY THIS:
https://github.com/JoepVanlier/Hackey-Trackey
there is a Lua script that adds a very recently in development
tracker pattern sequencer style editor for midi items in reaper.
Just in case some of you might be interested and/or some of you just
didn't notice. If doublepost, plz send me to the original thread
and delete this one or tell me so I delete it myself.
rock on! <3

Now we need only the playlist of buzz as well, plus ENTER for toggling between patter editor and playlist. But have to check the current patter editor first, what it can do already and what not. For me the kicking power of buzz was in the super efficient playlist which is nowhere else available in that elegant form. Add a break here and there for some variety, or stopping the kick for the duration of a single beat, what could be more elegant?
I guess what was done for notes should be repeated for (midi) items, then it should be the playlist functionality, somehow. A list of available items per track on the right, adding them by numbers like in buzz 0,1,2... then letters a,b,c...z.
Thanks sai'ke you started this! This might even transfer all buzzers over to Reaperland, if not here already, greetings to IXis.

Um, it's not quite ready for general use yet. I will make a separate thread about it when I release it.

v0.23 seems to work quite well, here at least. Others could check laters versions as well, if they are prepared to experimental development releases.

Me, too. This is the ultimate fun. Without buzz or buze in my case there is less fun. What I found most efficient workflow, for starting as quick as possible, no matter if you start first in buzz or Reaper, using rewirelink machine in buzz. Then Reapers master output is going in sync with buzz (master) sequencer, also the looping points. Thus you can be creative in both environments without caring much about how to bring them together. Just having fun. When you like the result kind of, just render out the wave files from buzz, take all to Reaper. Now without rewirelink, directly all audio from buzz in Reaper now, with the previous stuff you had in Reaper. Polish mixing. Ready. Also your file sizes stay at all times, minimal, you only render out if you really decide to mix all finally. Thus very good for lots of experimenting, lots of techniques, but at almost zero file size. Hope this is useful to some. Now or in 5 years.
