Default Someone want to clean up Reaper's noise gens?

I almost can't believe I'm making a request about noise generators, but I've found myself using them a lot this week and then got into researching the various noise 'colours'.

After using Reaper to generate some of these I noticed that the noise generators that come with it are a bit messy, incomplete, or even dangerous.

So I have a little request that I would like to see replace the existing ones to be bundled along with V5 release, with all due respect to the original authors.

Features:
Noise level slider (defaults to -12)
Dry signal level slider (defaults to -120)
Dropdown menu for noise colour:
- Grey, Pink, White, Brown, Violet
LP filter
HP filter

These features would replace the Loser/WhiteNoise and Liteon/Pinknoisegen plugins.
I'd need some info from coders on how exactly schwa's Gaussian noise generator differs from the white noise generator in practical use. I can tell its in stereo, but put in mono both the white noise generator and the Gaussian noise generator sound almost identical. For this reason I think it could safely be removed in favour of a new plugin.

As a final note, the FFT noise generator could benefit from some logic added to automatically scale the gain (pre volume fader) along with the FFT size. If you don't have automute on, well that's silly, but if you don't.. it generates incredibly loud volumes which can't possibly serve any real use.

I am not sure how helpful this is, but there is a coloured noise generator (brown, pink, white, blue, violet, grey) included with my JS mono_synth.

Still be good to have this idea implemented as a stand alone effect. Any takers?

Well, I guess I could add a multimode (LP, HP, maybe BP) 12 dB filter to my colored_noise plug-in.

I think it should affect only the noise, and not the dry signal, right? Because else you could just as well add ReaEQ or any other filter plug-in after colored_noise.

Thanks for the interest folks. I'm sorta hoping Cockos might consider replacing the existing noise generator's with Tale's to put it all in one place and bundle it with the download of v5
