Default "Unsaved" Tab Project when I openning a session.

Hi all,

Few days ago, I opened a tab session to pick up an Item I lost.
After that, I closed the tab session and I saved my main session.

But since then, each time I try to open my main session, Reaper try to close a session named "unsaved" before open the good one...

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1jQ...QayuKBtTY1NJ5c

When all is load, I have two tab projects, the "unsaved" one and the main one.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1er...QqbQd-QMdf_HMy

So I would like to know how I can close definitly this unsaved session. Because it's a bit boring to have to wait long time before openning the session...

I try to save as on another clean session but it's not working.
I've still have this unsaved session link to my project...

Any idea?
Many thanks!

Close the empty tab without saving.
Then close and save the main project.

Thank you Philbo for your reply.

That's what I did first.
But each time I reopen my main session, this unsaved one always open itself.
To be exact, this tab project close itself first (it took a lot of time) and open as "unsaved" session.

I had the same issue with another session I create yesterday...

Very strange.

Can you maybe save a small example .RPP project file which has this issue and attach it to a post?
So we can check if the behavior is the same on our Reaper setup and/or if something in the project file might look suspicious ...

Maybe there is an option that I need to uncheck somewhere?
Here is the session without the audio.

I try with a blank session and since I import a tab session, it was the same issue with this blank session...

There are options for what Reaper does when you start it. I'm fairly sure one option is to not open a project.

Thanks for the project file. I had a quick look.

Opening the .RPP file directly from a file explorer only opens the project itself here (no other tabs are opening in this case).

The only way I can find so far to recreate the behavior here is the following:

1) A new/blank project is currently open
2) Opening the example project file via File > Open Project with the Open in new project tab option checked at the bottom
3) Now 2 tabs are open here at the same time - the 'Unsaved' tab from step 1 and the project file tab from step 2

Ok thanks for your feedback.

I always open my sessions thru Reaper and almost never thru the MacOS Finder.
What do you mean by "file explorer"?

It's weerde because when I open the file I sent to you thru File > Open project. I have the "unsaved" onglet stick on it...

After doing step 1 and 2.
When you relaunch the session, do you have the unsaved onglet still opening?

Just to clarify: Is the 'Open in new project tab' option at the bottom of the Open Project window enabled? If that's the case, then unchecking this option should help.
The enabled/disabled state of this option is usually global and is therefore remembered until it is changed again.

Only if Preferences > General > Startup settings are set to [Last project tabs].

I did the first quick test on Windows

But I just checked it on macOS, as well, and it's the same there: the unsaved tab only stays open if the 'Open in new project tab' option mentioned above is enabled when opening another project via the Open project window.

YES!

That's it!

I didn't know that the option "Open in new project tab" always stay checked for all the projects...
I uncheck it and it's works.

Thanks to you for having solved the problem.
