i have a presonus faderport v1 that i have been using with reaper using the code discussed in these forums. it works great. that said, i dont know which version of firmware is installed on the faderport and how to update it if i should. ive read many threads about people updating their v1 fp firmware, but i havent seen exactly how to tell version or update. it also looks like presonus has removed any support info for the v1 device from their website.
can anyone help me with a more clear understanding of how to address v1 firmware?
If you aren't having problems, don't update it. There's a firmware update that breaks things and the "fixed" firmware is no longer available from presonus.

do you know how i can tell which version of firmware is installed? is it just through the upgrade installer? is the info available anywhere in reaper?

I don't but I do have a copy of the firmware that is no longer available (1.3.8) you can PM me if you need it - If memory serves, the one you don't want is 1.3.5 (also don't update from the CD unless you know the version it is). You know you have the bad one if the motorized fader is all wonky and doesn't work properly.

thanks for the offer. i looked and i actually have the 1.3.8 windows updater. im not sure which version of the firmware is installed on my faderport, but ill take your advice and leave well enough alone. it does work great, tho!
