This thread kind of inspired the direction I went with this piece:

Not saying I actually "nailed" anything, but in the louder parts I've got a pair of hard panned guitars stacked on top of and gating some saw synths. The synths I think was literally just a couple instances of ReaSynth, ReaEQ for filters, and ReaComp for saturation. Looking back at it, I'm a little surprised that the guitars are direct in and then slammed into a PodFarm AC30 clone with the cab sim turned off. You can hear them without the synths in some of the quieter parts toward the end.


I think to a certain extent it shows that a lot of what makes some of these sounds is the arrangement and how they fit with and mutually reinforce other elements in the mix.

That sounded good. Great width, nice atmosphere and each instrument distinctly audible.

At least a starting point ? It's some processed synth or wtvr, but I'm interested in what sort of EQ/verb/delay or other might achieve that.
