Hmm, might be a bug then. Does this also happen with Breverb inserted as the only plugin in your project? Do you have any software instruments going as well?

The first thing to do before starting any audio work should be to close all other applications.

tested
I can only record two guitars track and one backing track, but two guitar track with different amplifier on chains
1)
any added track put system in sound glicthiness
2)
I cannot use two instances of Lepou Le 456
togheter the system go into real panic
3)
I am free to choose the chain but breverb seems only to be to heavy for the cpu
You can use it accepting a good compromise between glitch and smooth sound
limit is always 2 track
conclusion
anwway breverb reduces performance but 2 instances of lepou kill it
I just record one guitar with lepou stuff and another with ignite amps (plus playing with breverb after adjusting reverbs)
the mixing is good i hope to let you enjoy it
for me problem is solved
Is a problem linked to cpu limit
no audio card issue
no reaper settings
even if i can tweak with vst usage in reaper preferences but I don't know how to do
so if there is a bug is about Lepou stuff and maybe Overloud Breverb stuff (and voxengo too)
cheers
next test with voxengo stuff...

Ah, this is good to learn. I was just gonna write you: My old 2008 MacBook Pro with 3GB Ram (like yours) works like a breeze! Much, much better than expected. I thought I could savely work with, say, 8 to 10 Tracks with EFX on while mixing.
It turns out - with a little bit of careful planning - I can work with 16, 18 tracks and have no trouble. So, there must have been a real prob with your system setup. Now ... enjoy Reaper! :-)
Yours,
HeyJoe
