Default Using the Roland boutique VP-03 with Reaper

I have recently acquired a Roland VP-03 (https://www.roland.com/us/products/vp-03/) which I would very much like to use within Reaper. I have been unsuccessful (to date) connecting it up on my Mac. I can use it in Garageband, so I know that to hardware connectors are good, but no luck in Reaper. This is a hardware synth module which has both analog (mic) and MIDI (vocoder, synths) parts to it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

These videos are showing two possible options for using external hardware synths:

The new Boutique collection are fantastic.
I’ve got 2 x SE-02s and the D-05.
I’m getting ready to automate a Tribute for friends who use a Reaper.
PCI or PCI-e Audio/MIDI Interface will work great with Reaper.
I’ve even attached a few Strymon Pedals, and a few hardware synths to Reaper.
It’s fine to use as a live performance host.

There might probably also be other options, but one way trying to replicate the things shown in the video is basically:

1) Creating an Aggregate Audio Device (as shown in the video) ...
2) ... and selecting the Aggregate Audio Device then as Audio Device in Reaper's Preferences

3) Adding Audio Track #1 (= Ableton Live Track 3 in the video) and assigning an appropriate audio input (Stereo-Input 1/2 in the video) as Track Input: https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php#iLC1HjLXLd0
4) Adding Audio Track #2 (= Ableton Live Track 4 in the video) and placing an audio sample on it

Then in the Track I/O-Routing Panel ** of Audio Track #2:

5) Selecting an appropriate audio output (output 5 in the video) as Audio Hardware Output at the bottom left
6) Unchecking the Master/Parent send checkbox at the top left
