Default creating space space with two mics.

A friend showed me this technique.explained here.

after the mics are set up and the recording made using above configuration change the polarity/phase of the "side mic"track and pan both tracks hard right and left.done.

One shortcoming of that article is that it might lead the uninitiated to conclude there's only XY and MS. There are a number of other techniques.

But, yes, MS is the most flexible one, since you can still process the recording after the fact. In that way it's unique. It is, however, not at all suited for close miking.

I mean, that'll definitely do something, and it'll probably sound pretty wide. I'd imagine on headphones it would head toward that "brain sucked out through your ears" inside out feeling, but I haven't tried it. It's NOT the proper way to decode M/S, but whatever works, I guess.

It certainly makes it sound 3 dimensional!it would be a nice setting for an atmospheric guitar piece.
