Default Reaper causing static on inputs 3/4 of Komplete Audio 6

I use a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 audio interface. It's been flawless for many years but just recently I noticed that I was getting static on inputs 3/4, even with nothing at all hooked up and direct monitoring.

I finally traced it to Reaper today. It's only there when I have Reaper open and the Audio Device set to ASIO>Komplete Audio 6.

If I close Reaper, or select any other audio device, the static remains until I send any signal to 3/4. For example, I set my Win 10 to play sound on 3/4 and then adjust the volume slider which causes that little Volume Test sound, and the static stops.

It hasn't always been like this so I don't know why it started. The real question is, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

It seems to be when I have the interface set to 44100 instead of 48000 though why it only just started, I have no idea.

Mine has a tendency to open in 44.1 sometimes, even when set to 48.0.
Apart from that, it has been solid for about 3 years.

Have you tried the KA6 control panel diagnostics?

Are you on the latest firmware? (4.2.0)

I needed to unplug then re connect after Windows update(s).

Yeah I've tried everything. Dignostics, reinstalling drivers, settings in windows audio prefs, rebooting, and anything else I could think of to try.

I finally narrowed it down to simply being any time that the interface is set to 44100 (which is how I record), then inputs 3/4 have static. Luckily I don't really use those for anything. Usually I only use them if I need to capture "what I hear" from a website or something, so it's not a huge deal, just very annoying that I can't find a fix and it used to be fine. I've always recorded in 44100.
