quad core laptops.
eg adkproaudio.com
proper lappies for daw use.
with proper chipsets n drives.
stay away from el cheapo lappies.
prolly 8 core lappies at some point.

Rumor has it that Apple will be including a version of the i5 eventually into their Macbook Pro line, I expect them to include USB 3 when the standard takes full effect within the next two years, Firewire 1600 is also another big thing that is coming.

The best laptop that exists (for DAW purposes)... is a Clevo shell unit that uses a desktop i7 socket 1366 CPU.
It's a beefy/manly laptop... not slim/svelt like the MacBook Air.
If you can justify the expense (~$3000), you'll have the performance of a fast desktop in a laptop.

Not that I know of, the only products on the market that are USB3 products are a 500GB MyBook external HDD. And If I am not mistaken, they are beginning to retail PCI-X USB3 cards??
