Default Dual pan

Is it possible to have the right pan move according to the left pan on a single track?

Like a mirror, one slider following the other ?

I thought I did it before or I was dreaming...

yes. I think.

if you left click in the pan-section and slide with the mouse sown or up the pans move accordingly to each other.

Not possible.

+1 for a modifier key + drag to move both faders in opposite directions at the same time

Use Dual Pan vst and link to parameter one to each other in op dir and modulate one or envelope.

Why? This would have the same effect as adjusting the width in other pan modes, so why not pick one of those and turn that one knob instead?

I'll check it out. When panning a mono track (guitars) you are sure width will do the same ? Doubled track guitars ( 2 guitars=4tracks, panned hard left and right and/or 75%)
I figured width was for stereo tracks but it makes some sense.
A panning vst is a good idea I just installed a great script that allows me to turn same knob on multiple instances of the same plugins so nice!
But I'd like to do it with Reaper if possible.

If you've got a mono source, and use dual pan, set them exactly opposite each other, then it's not going to be panned at all. It'll still be mono and centered. ???

If you've got two guitars hard panned, and then I guess like bussed (foldered, whatever), and you use dual pan on that buss track to bring them in by the same amount, it'll be the same thing as reducing width.

It's doubles track. Same riff tracked twice panned hard L and R makes it very wide. Using width on a bus for those 2 tracks will actually work. I set my project template to dual pan this way I have control on every sound without having to change pans settings. I wanted to avoid some busing and pan configuring that's why I was looking for a short cut or action to do this.

Sure, but by the time you get done setting up whatever linking is necessary to make the dual pan thing work, you could have just switched pan mode and be done.

I'll try that if width works for mono tracks as well I'll group them so both can follow each other !
But it would be practical to have opposite pans as well !

Width does nothing on mono tracks. Panning dual pans exactly opposite one another also does nothing on mono sources. What would it do? What could it do? What are you trying to do with that?

Edit - I guess I should say that with dual pan on a mono source, it doesn't matter where the pans are set as long as they are exactly opposite. It's still just a centered mono image.

When retracking the same riff twice, the slight difference between those makes it sound much bigger when panned hard left/right. It is not a single mono sound anymore.

That is what I need. And I'm not alone.
