Amplitube 5 Mystery

I recently upgraded to Amplitube 5. For the first few weeks no problem. Then suddenly when I went to add an instance to a track it loads up the interface window in white and just hangs....forever. I have to task manager my way out of the program. I've done the re-installs, clear cache, re-scan etc., to no avail. When I open a project that I made that already had instances in it , it behaves normally. If I save a blank track with it on the FX bin as a TRACK template it loads fine. If however, I try to save a track with it on it as a FX template it hangs when I try to load it.
The only way I can use it now is if I load it as a track template. Any clues as to what happened and how I fix it so it behaves like any other plugin?

it just takes a TON of time to load. Don't do anything until you see the gui

It NEVER loads when I select it from the FX window, that's my point. If I load it as a track template off a previously working project, the interface loads in 5 seconds.

how long have you given it? a minute? 2?

I give up after about 10 minutes. The thing is, if I load it as a track template, it loads in about 5 seconds, every time.

oh damn yeah thats not what i saw, sorry to hear... it does take at least a minute for me but i dont think 10

so there's an update. was still a bit sluggish. I used processexplorer and found it was spending a lot of time scanning factory presets (2800+ of them), so I deleted all of those and it worked up a bit. also disabled antivirus on that folder; not sure if that made a difference.

Bugger! After dumping IKMM a while ago, I have literally within a week "bought" a new download for all the sounds I already had & reinstalled everything, assuming that most of the long-running issues had been fixed over the years.
I really hope this is true, but I`m downloading & installing the update, just in case...

Update: Took a while to reinstall the new version of Amplitube 5 but now it is loading a little slower than Amplitube 4 which I still have installed & neither of them take more than 30 seconds max. SLow but not really unusable.
