Default Help Me Out Please!!!

Help Me Out Please!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, check it out, i am a straight newbie!! I am really an artist and have not beefed up my engineering skills yet. I know how to do the basic recording stuff (adding track, effecdts, etc.) which is all i really need right now at home. got a question, how in the hell do you get the recording to play in MP3 format??? do i consolidate first, then render?? I posted a thread like this before and got good advise from y'all. All my settings are set to 16 bit like i was told , and still nothing. The only thing i got was a blank media file, it showed the time length for the song, but no sound. Am i doing something wrong!!! Need "Reaper For Dummies Manual" i guess, lol

Peace
Z

Just render to mp3. You need to have the lame encoder in your c:\program files\reaper directory to do that though

Hmm...do your hear the sound when you play the project in Reaper? Are you using MIDI tracks or audio tracks? Got any plug-ins on the master buss?

Oooh ok, I think I get it. Reaper is playing through your audio interface and monitor speakers, right? WMP/Realplayer are probably configured to use your pc's internal soundcard by default.

Go into your Windows control panel, pick Sounds and Audio Devices, pick the Audio tab, and set the default sound playback devices to whatever soundcard is running your monitors.

You can probably do this in WMP's settings too...I know you can select non-default audio devices in Winamp. Post back if this fixed your problem.

Get ASIO4ALL (do a Google search). Should help you out.

As for the silence thing - maybe try killing Reaper then playing. Or putting the thing onto an mp3 player or something. Or try importing the mp3 into Reaper and seeing if it does anything. Or get Winamp. Or something.
