Default Negative Harmony Helper

yeah, I just watched some of the videos relating to Jacob Collier's ideas on what he terms "negative harmony" and I'm wondering if we can set something up which can help find chords in this manner, or melodies.

I was able to set up a simple custom action which uses the fifth of the key as an axis by which to invert intervals, turning C major into G phyrigian.

But when it comes to finding CHORDS, for some reason I can't seem to make it work.

the chord progression of C to Eminor just turns to G to Bminor. Which is just a simple transposition.

I think it should be more like Gminor and Bmajor(lyd)

but then it still doesn't seem quite right. Is there anyone here who is familiar with this and is there a tool to help learn negative harmony?

When I experimented with it, I just used the midi editor...

- Create the "positive" chord.
- Invert that vertically interval wise...

Will show pic if needed

IIRC the first one - aka C negated = F minor. If you have that, you got it right.

Someone else asked for help with this idea (I think) recently...https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...83&postcount=1

I haven't tried the effect and I probably wouldn't know whether it was working properly or not but I think he's aiming for what you want.
