Default Reaper - Ketron sd2

Hi all...

I would like to use my Ketron sd2 with Reaper. Is there any kind of file I need to install so that Reaper will see the Ketron?

I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 interface
I haven't upgraded to Reaper 6 as of yet.

Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

No, but if your Scarlett has no midi you need a USB to Midi cable.

Hi... thanks for the comeback

Actually the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 does have MIDI in and MIDI out. I was using the Ketron exclusively before I got Addictive Drums Sample Tank 4, only not in Reaper. I was using it in Sonar. It was quite easy to set it up in Sonar... all I had to do was insert Ketron SD 2.ins patch map into Sonar, "ins" is a file type being exclusive to Sonar. I'm just wondering if there is a patch map file I need to have in order to use the Ketron with Reaper?

Thanks so much... appreciated

You could use ReaControlMidi and load the .ins file there. Maybe that will work, cause instrument definition files are supported in the file open menu there. I couldn't test.

Hi... sorry about getting back to you so late... it's been nine months since you answered my question. Just goes to show you how long I've been away from my music!

I'm just letting you know that I just tried your suggestion of using ReaControlMidi and it works! I'm able to load my "ins" file and all the patches are there. One question: Once I've loaded the file and choose a patch, do I just close the ReaControlMidi box? I don't see any "apply" or "OK" buttons. I notice that once I've entered the info into the ReaControlMidi the patch name doesn't show up on the track... the box for the track name stays blank

There's a connection issue that I'm having as well. But I think it will be one thing at a time.

Again... thanks so much for your help... so much appreciated.
