@mpl There is --amend to make it update existing versions. You can run "reapack-index --scan . --amend" to update all published versions in one shot.

Question for SWS coders: Would it be possible to include wxWidgets (or any other open-source, cross-platform graphics toolkit) in SWS, with Lua bindings?

Don't think that's necessary, perhaps it'd be better to expose SWELL to Lua somehow.

Does anyone whether Breeder is still around ?
I'm trying to figure out how to update the loudness scanning, so more than EBU R128 can be scanned for. The libebur128 library was patched seven months ago as well, so there may be some bug fixes available too.
My goal is to have a separate scanning mode, if possible even two new actions for it, a preset level and a variable input-box driven level.
Dolby Dialogue Gate(free code now) followed by ITU 1770.1 (oldest with no gates at all) loudness scanning. Netflix surprised everyone a few weeks ago with a new delivery spec, and it's actually quite clever.
So if Breeder is still here, perhaps he or someone else well versed in C++ can help out in this regard. If it's too much work, I'll certainly ask for help from Cockos.
I've posted the complete request here: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...postcount=2478
as well as in the Github issue tracker. https://github.com/reaper-oss/sws/issues/1046

So it seems Tim put our brand new SWS 2.10.0 out on /pre-release !
It is a compilation of something arround 40 fix/updates mostly proposed by nofish and cfillion in 2018 which I merge this month in this version with their help.
I let you check the whatnew for infos.
Thanks to anyone supporting the project !
Cheers !

Nope, they have very different purpose and pretty different internally.

May I ask: what tools are needed to create new additions for SWS?
And what is different compared to LUA, is the execution just faster or are there also additional functions that aren't available in the API for LUA?

You need to have C/C++ chops and an IDE and C/C++ compiler for that, like Visual Studio, or Xcode, or whatever else is there that does that...
Yes it's quite different from Lua.

@Stevie
You also need Perl and PHP installed and set as envrionement variables.
This should be rewritten in Python cause having to install Perl and PHP just for these is overkill ^^

Oh geez, well that doesn't look like I will dive into that very soon.
There seems to be a lot of hurdles to set it up
Need some time for that.

I can't say that it works though. I use "Vertical zoom to selected tracks, minimize others" because it actually fits the tracks exactly across the height of the screen (the other sws variants don't use the whole height of the screen for me). Any tracks that have height locked are still resized with this command if included in the selection.
Can anyone else confirm?

Could you please make it optional. I use a lot of these actions in custom macros and scripts and I counted that they do work with locked tracks so this update may break things for me. It's hard to do proper tests because they are scatered around in my configuration since they are used for all sorts of wacky things.
IMHO, locked height option is useful when you use your mouse to zoom things, but when you use actions you usually know which track you're targeting. REAPER also lets you resize locked height tracks if you use mouse to drag the track height. Also, because these actions have been working like this for so long, we could say it has become the standard
It can be a hidden option somewhere in REAPER.ini under SWS section or something...like deprecated behavior or something...if you don't want to spam the action list with another option. SWS has been know for years to have many such quirks (things available only in .ini files) and they are always listed in what's new so I presume this would be an acceptable solution that would satisfy everyone.

I have a macro that effectively zooms all tracks to fit the window vertically. So I was hoping the new behaviour would spread all the height-unlocked tracks across the remaining space. I can understand that having new behaviour optional is good for all (maybe even making them new actions)

You might wan't to try the script: amagalma_Fit vertically all tracks into view (if possible).lua
This one will respect the locked track heights.

Tbh I'm a bit surprised this argument didn't seem to come up when native actions started to obey height locking, e.g. View: Toggle track zoom to minimum / maximum height also respect height locked tracks, but maybe I missed it.
But I do see this change in behaviour can break existing workflows, so I'll revert it for next SWS version (edit: done) (and maybe do optional version at some later point as it requires more work / time. Current SWS pre will go official quite soon probably.).

I remembered wrong, I thought it was just mousewheel but I went back to my video on track height locking and it's keyboard or mousewheel.
I dunno. I very rarely adjust the heights after locking so it probably makes most sense for sws actions to also respect track locking.

I've just tried it and although it leaves the height-locked tracks as they are it still uses the whole window height as the available space to fill (instead of whole window minus height-locked track space)
Try making a height-locked track take up a quarter of the arrange height. On my mac the remaining tracks overspill by a quarter height of the window after running the action even when they have enough shrink capacity not to.
The SWS action in that last beta has the same behaviour. I've not tried the actual SWS release yet.
Good to see SWS new releases though. Thank yous

The new release is labeled 2.10.0.1.
Are there differences with this and the pre-release 2.10.0 ?

This is different from 2.10.0 pre to 2.10.0.1 official:
Quote:
- Revert 'Track height actions and vertical zoom actions obey track height locking' (for not breaking existing workflows, may come back as optional later on)
- "SWS/NF: Enable / Disable multichannel metering (...)" actions: Improve performance (report here, thanks Edgemeal!)
