Feature or Bug? Odd Take Name issue in Item Properties

Hi Folks,
I recently noticed that when I make a change to Take Name in Item Properties, after a second or so, the cursor moves to the beginning of the field and Apply is automatically activated. I don't recall this behaviour before. Any ideas? Anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Seems like this feature was added years ago IIRC.

Preferences (-> General) -> Keyboard/Multitouch -> Commit changes to some edit fields after 1 second of no typing
