Default how to change midi media item timebase

Next to the track or media item volume (circular knob) on the top left of the media item there is a timebase. It's referred to as a 'Rate' on the midi item.
[Rate 1.527].

But I want to match that media item (bass guitar) to another media item (drum) which is [Rate 1.542]. But when I Alt/mouse cursor (hand) drag on the midi item on the right end, as close as I can get is either 1.532 or 1.556. Those are as close as I can get using this method, it never gives me an area that reads 1.542.

So I was looking into F2/Properties and there's only position or length for time measurement areas to input data into.

Any help?
I searched and couldn't find anything, so any help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

In the Media Item Properties there is a Playback rate field (in the 'Take properties' section), where you can type values in.

(It also works for several selceted items at once btw.)

Default Thanks, trying to follow instructions here...

I've attached a picture file to show what options are available and I just don't see what you're suggesting available for me to set the timebase numbers in?

thanks

Oh ok, I've never seen the Item properties as in your pic to be honest.

Here it looks like this (I've marked the Playback rate field):

I've no idea why you don't see the 'Take properties' section, sorry.
Are you using maybe an (quite) old Reaper version where this wasn't added yet ?

edit:
There seems to be a scrollbar at the bottom in your pic, right ?
Have you tried scrolling right already (or resizing the window) ?

I can get the same layout as in your pic when I resize the Item properties window (didn't know that before):

Default smiling, shaking head, Thumbs up!

ah-Yep! The window was only partially sized for me when I brought it up.
So, thanks, here's my answer and I 'THANK' you for sticking with me on that No-Fish.
Really appreciate it.

Say, btw, I took one screen shot, copy paste into Irfanview pic of the Reaper Pop up window and I saved it and had all kinds of problems in saving it and trying to upload the pic into the forum here, too large, too small, etc. How may I ask do you do it to get your pictures so nicely in the Attachments here please? I had to change mine to b/W to get it to accept it here. (And that's why my pic looked weird). 'And' you got yours into the post not just an attachment. Kewl!
Good help though, thanks NoFish

Default thanks Nofish

I've found that many more windows in Reaper are only partial also, since your great tip here (so grateful for your spot on detective work for my situation). My Reaper is paid latest 5.92 btw.

Situation is that I have a large screen and for my eyesite had used large lettering, large icon windows screen settings. I switched it to normal, smaller and 'kazam'!! all the Reapers' windows are now full! Laughs. thanks again.

You're welcome.

That the layout of the item properties window can change by itself was also new to me so I also learned something new from this thread.

You're brilliant nofish!

I was just fighting with MIDI like crazy. I have changed tempo of the song, from 130 onto 65.

For easy calculations of pre delays etc.

Of course tempo of the song was not changed but the value has chaged.
And than I had to import some MIDI tracks from previous version with time signature 130 BPM

And than the hell has started.

I watched Kenny vid Track Timebase Tempo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eus1hMD_eUo

But the settings applied to MIDI were not working. I mean: Set track timebase.

Than I was trying to import some MIDI tracks which cause few crashes.

Reaper somehow knows tempo both songs and settings but does not like it!

I have searched the net and I have found that topic and the solution.

Now its working, I had to change the ratio of MIDI take from 1.00 into 0.500

Many thanx man for your help in this nightmarish problem. :-)))))

Yeah... I have the latest version of Reaper. :-)
