I don't understand those pink line workarounds, crop them out, scale image, paint them in.

The problem is being anally retentive; when you resize a PNG you can lose the pixel sharp lines (the perfection).
Here's the 1080p transport, resized from PNGs:
You can see the edges are not perfect. Looks better than I expected though.
When you resize a PSD source file it's not that simple, you have to nudge edges to make them line up and then adjust the layer styling for the smaller scale. We've yet to find an optimised route for the latter method.

Affinity has this weird thing where it'll resize lines to half a pixel width? I can't figure it out.

I didn't mention "PNG" anywhere and were referring to unnecessary worrying about pink lines like this.

What method are you using to resize the images in Photoshop? What resampling method are you using if any?

Well I only brought it up because the conversation turned to why a batch resize won't work. Sorry if I added to the confusion. That said, if batch resizing only created the issue of the half-pixel pink lines, I'm pretty sure, it would be easy enough to go in and create 1px wide pink lines over the resulting images.
My point is that I'm thinking there's got to be a good way to get the images to the right size/resolution from the source PSD's, with somewhat minimal effort. If I have to create some 1 px wide pink lines, that's fine. Just looking to develop a consensus approach as to what the best method is for doing this so we're all doing the same thing the same way and limiting deviation. I'm a process guy at work, so I'm inclined to say, "let's figure out the best procedure, then make sure anyone who is resizing images is doing the same thing, the exact same way, so we'd all get the same/best results." I'm not a designer by any means but I dabble and can follow procedures. I'd be happy to document a procedure too.
It sounds like you have some knowledge around this, so I'm definitely interested in hearing your thoughts on the best way to achieve this.

Just compared PNG resizing (Affinity: Bicubic) to full Affinity vector file:
The stop button is the PNG (10 seconds work), the pause button is the AD file (10 minutes work). You can see that the pause button edges are sharper—stop looking softer—but there's not much in it.
I think I may be use standard PNG resizing as it would save hours upon hours of work, and I doubt anyone would notice the difference without looking very critically.
Thoughts?

Hmm, PS resizing (bicubic) is even better (pause button):
Stop is Affinity bicubic. Softer. That's good enough for me. PS PNG resizing it is from now on.
Good news - the 1080p version will be out a lot sooner now :¬)

The difference is subtle but there. What makes the adjusting the vector file 10 minutes of work versus 10 seconds on the .png? Sorry if it's an annoying question but I'd like to understand to either say, "hey, maybe there's a better way or some macros or an autohotkey script to get the time down" or just say "you know what, not worth it, resize the .png's."

Check out the PS version above, even better.
The best way to use AD is to open the 1080p file (already perfect size/guides), cut out the 1080p design and then drop the 200 (PSD) version into that smaller file and resize the layer. When you do that, lines aren't always perfect, and the layer style (shadow, emboss, highlight etc) needs to be manually adjusted (as we couldn't find a batch way to scale layer styles).
It's just so much more fiddly and time consuming.

I'm assuming some images will need more work than others. The good news is that a fair few can be batch processed.

Much better! AD resizes circular things better, so this is a mix:
Very happy with that. Just need to manually enhance the central divider line between home/end and stop/pause.
Hammering through non-guide images as we speak.

If you find your images to be too soft:
In Photoshop:
Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen (Whoa, that's too sharp!)
Edit > Fade Sharpen... (lower the opacity to your liking)
Create an action or repeat process with all your images.

Indeed - been testing that (prefer Unsharp Mask though). At this size, it's very easy to overdo sharpening, and the theme is called Smooth, so I'm kinda happy with a *slight* softness to some elements.

Turns out I have no idea how to get the fonts to be the right size in both HiDPI and 1080p.
Does anyone know how/where the scale from one res to another? I set them or HiDPI sizes in the reaperTheme.

There are different fonts & sizes. Walter fonts in theme tweaker from 1 to 8 i think are 1080p, and from 8 to 16 they are for hidpi. You can test this yourself.

Is this icon missing the border? Or has it been cropped off? Seems a little odd without if that is intentional. Not sure what do you think?

Intentional, it's been like that since day 1.
The empty FX disabled FX looks need to be distinct. If you add a border to that—even with the red light—it starts to look too similar.
I love it how it looks/acts. It's not going to change

Looking really good! Did that new fader cap you were working on a few pages back not make it into the final build?

Yeah, it is for HiDPI. I won't port that to 1080 until everything is done, and I remember. Loads more to do still.
I'm going to skip HiDPI 1.8 and just release 2.0 with 1080p, as it may even get released this week or weekend.

I'm aware that you decided to go the photoshop-route, which will look fine. Just wanted to show how I went about it in Affinity Designer:
If you're trying to export at @0.5 scale, then the lines will shrink down to half-pixel size. Maybe that was the issue?
Any image that uses pink lines has to be scaled manually in Affinity as well, at least as far as I can tell.

I had a play with Constraints (thanks for the heads up on that), but the problem they have is that they're not relative. When you resize the image by 50%, they stay the same size; they're 2x too large.

Hey B0se. I've got one 4k screen and one 1080, so if you need someone to beta test the 1080 theme on a multimonitor setup then just let me know. I'm on Win10.

Reaper forum user Saike has a fantastic spectrum analyzer that allows you to view up to 16 stereo sources.
I like to use it to send my submix busses to. I gave him the smooth colors and he was kind enough to include it as a color theme in his plugin! Looks great! Just add his repository on reapack to install it, and while you're at it, his other plugins are some of the most fun I've had in a while!
Here's a gif of what it looks like:
https://imgur.com/lFLjJsV
Just in case anyone is wondering how to set it up. Put the analyzer on a separate track, Send whatever you want to be red to channels 1&2 on that track, then send whatever you want to be orange to channels 3&4 on that track. So on and so forth.
