The idea of the subprojects is: The whole project is simply
packed into a wav file and the wav file is used in the parent
project. That is simple and clear.
For video sub-projects, however, it would be much more difficult
and confusing:
You would first have to define the "exchange video format", and
that would in turn depend on the installed codecs, which can be
very different depending on the user (VLC, FFMPEG, etc.).
Depending on the format, this would happen:
1. Video subprojects will regularly suddenly no longer be playable
because the underlying codec cannot be found.
2. Since all codecs are lossy, the result with a subproject is never
the same as without a subproject.
These two reasons, in my opinion, mean that Reaper will never
have video-subprojects - except Reaper mutates from a DAW
into a full sized Video-editor.
