Default How to add more notes to MIDI in Piano Editor?

Stupid question:

If I have, say, two bars and for some reason, I need two more. If I select the edge and drag, REAPER creates a new, identical loop! But I don't want a loop, I want to write new (different) chords after existing ones. How do I add more bars?

Hello Markku and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information.

Two alternative ways:
  • in the Arranger: select the clip, right-click >> Item Settings >> untick "Loop item source", then drag the right-hand edge to the desired length, turn the looping back on if you wish,
  • in the MIDI Editor: hover over the right-hand edge of the clip until the mouse cursor changes to a two-headed arrow and a vertical bar, click and drag to the right to lengthen the clip

Or, just add another (empty) MIDI clip?

Oh, DarkStar, *so* much thank you! I was going nuts with this. Reaper feels so logical otherwise, I thought there must be a way...

Thank you!
