Pictures ! Loop item source.. fx envelope follows
When enabling loop item source can we have the envelope follow
I made a mock-up to explain how it should behave.
This would be very useful
Thanks Dev's

I guess for this kind of behavior you just should use automation items as they get looped like this. I don't know, if you already worked with them. But only thing you have to do is to alt drag an automation item in the lane below the envelope and then loop it like you want.

Automation items take up too much room in certain situations also this would enable you to have several envelopes looping all within the same item and it's easier to keep track of things. I think it would be a nice feature to have seeing as loop item source already exists it only seems natural for the item envelope to loop too. Also good for midi control envelopes. There are many scenarios where this would be very handy.

I don't see a practical use-case for this. Could you explain, what would become better with this?
Automation-Items would probably the best for that, just define for one "loop" of the picture and then change the length of the AutomationItem to the length of the Picture-item.. It should loop the envelope you defined in the AutomationItem before you changed it's length...
Means, you only need one AI for each picture...

He or she thought it would be a good idea the save room under the tracks. AIs have their own lane so it is an argument. But I have no idea why those item envelopes don't loop in the first place. Okay, if you have a looped sequence and want a modulation which is more slowly and has nothing to do with the loop it makes of course sense. Maybe it should be an option like "loop item source".
Just a checkbox for "loop item automation"?
Sounds easy and gives a lot more flexibility.

I see a point in having it. But it must be optional. Despite all the yelling it's not what everyone here on the list is a) craving for and b) needs in every situation.

You say that but loop item source should be loop item source no ? i.e the item and all that the item is composed of should by default be looped when loop item is checked.
At present we have to create/duplicate a new item including it's item fx which uses lots of memory and is not ideal, this way we can have a very elegant way of automating parameters/midi etc all in one item not spread across the arrange page.
It's a no brainer to me ??
btw I'm not yelling and yes I am craving and also needing

The key point is IMHO "by default". There are use cases for both behaviours. And as long as I can toggle the looping of the envelope on and off for any item I'm happy.
