How Can There Be More Than One .png With The Same File Name?

I want to know how someone can have saved a set of different .PNG files all with the same name!

I was just looking through White Tie's Imperial theme image folders and there appears to be a set of mcp_bg and _bg_sel images all with the same name. How is this possible?

I would love an answer to this because it's really bugging me.

They're in different folders.

No, they're not.

EDIT: I just realised the search must be covering not just the root folder but including results from nested folders.

The way OSX shows the seach results (as being all in 1 folder) is very misleading and should be improved, so it doesn't lead to your confusion.
