Backup file in additional directory relative path
Hello!
So you know how Reaper can save backup, timestamped files? And an option to do that in an additional directory? Well, why can't that additional directory path be relative? I want to save my backups in a "Backup" folder under every project.
Simple feature?

Relative folders for backup files, audio and stems would be good

This would duplicate Protools functionality, and to be honest, I'm of the opinion they got it right.
Cluttering up the main project directory is not conducive to finding what you're looking for fast.
Optionally ? Yes. Should it be the default? Yes.

I agree with the relative path.
Now I'm gonna try to tuck another couple of requests into this thread
An option to autosave only when something has actually been done. I keep reaper open for long stretches of time when I'm doing something else. Not much use in hundreds of identical backups.
Another option could be to autosave after having recorded new media. Think I would enable that one permanently..

Bump, come on, we have a relative path for audio files, why not for project backups? My project folders are an absolute mess because of stuff like this :/

I'll bump this as well. This is the reason I had the backup function turned off in the first place. Seems to me that relative paths would have been a no brainer.

Hi there,
I'm new to Reaper and still testing....and I can say I love it.
The relative backup folder certainly gets my vote.

+1, together with limit on number of project backup files (delete oldest if new one is beyond the limit).

Sad but true. It would be so useful, and - just guessing - pretty quick to get it done...

Would be nice though if the auto-renamed to .rpp-bak files when overwriting project file could also be made / auto-moved relative imo.
