Any Coffee Lake Hackintoshers here ?
Wondering if there are people here in the community using a Coffee Lake Hackintosh succesfully for studiowork, using Reaper.
Anxious to hear about your used hardware parts and how Reaper runs on it

I use an 8700k (OC to 5ghz) on an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO
- Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black 64GB 4-Kit
- Samsung 960 Pro m.2 1TB
Runs like a dream, setup without problem.

Do you notice any performance differences between the two os? You always hear of Mac os being smoother, but has anyone actually tested the same project on the same machine on each os for instance?

Graphics is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 WindForce 2X OC - 2GB
I used to have a motherboard with thunderbolt (which worked), now I
use the USB 3.0. My next Interface (UFX+) will support Thunderbolt and USB 3.0, so this will work.
MacOS runs very smooth, I never even installed Windows.

These are older benchmarks, but they show OSX lagging behind Windows - substantially at the lowest latencies:

I have never seen anything that demonstrates superior performance with Mac, the opposite in fact.

Exactly my opinion also after have reading alot about PC-Mac DAW performance.
Same goes for Cubase: seems to run way better, performance-wise, on PC then on Mac.

I'd love to see Mac vs similarly spec'd PC benchmarks with the optimisations Microsoft have done with Win10. No Hackintosh though like in the above benchmarks that show really poor OSX performance because we need to involve the Mac UEFI. Need to see how the focus on UX and the shiny affects performance.
The terrible performance of OpenGL on Mac was an embarrasment to Apple too, no wonder they've deprecated it and aren't allowing direct Vulkan. After all, eliminting crossplatform benchmarking appears to be in their play handbook. Hence ARM coming soon....
