Default Waves Plugin Help!

Hi!

i have reaper on my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard

I've installed Waves plug in but i have a problem.

THe path where the plug-ins are installed is Mac - LIbrary- Audio - Plug Ins . The same path where also the other vst that reaper recognizes. For some reason Reaper doens't find them. There is a window which asks me to choose the folder where the waves plug in are installed but if i click open folder, the window appear again.

Can you help me to solve this problem? Thank you so much for your kind help!

I add you also a screenshot of the window that opens when reaper scans the wave shell vst

The wave shell 'wrapper' goes in the plugins folder and then you follow Wave's setup prompts and point it to the Waves plugins folder (in the Waves folder).
This is how the Waves folks set up their system. Don't fight it, just go with it.

With wrapper you mean the .pkg file of the installer?

So if I've understood right i have to move the pkg file in the waves plugins folder in application support-waves?

Thanks you

Ok i've found the right folder and now Reaper finds the plug-ins. The problem is now the shell, because when I open a plug-in it doens't compare in a window but inside the one where you add or remove the vst.

I've tried to open a file made by a friend and it visualize them all perfectly. The only difference is that my friend uses the 32 bit version of reaper, while mine is 64.

What should i do? Step back to the 32 bit version of reaper or there is a way to set the host to run in 32 bit mode?

Thanks so much

Sorry if my questions are silly, but i don't know so much Mac Osx techically.

What is the reason you have for wanting a different setup from Waves default? (Apologies if this is just miscommunication) I don't think it would be possible without re-coding something. Waves doesn't make VST, AU, RTAS, or TDM plugins. They have their own unique system. Their 'waveshell' wrappers go in the plugin folders and Waves calls their plugins through those. (For example, WaveShell-VST 7.0.vst wrapper goes in the VST folder along with the standard .vst plugins). When Waves first launches (or if you re-run the Reg utility) it asks you to point it to the Waves plugins folder (in Applications/Waves if you installed it in the default spot).

In OSX the file extensions have meaning (apparently everything is called .dll in windows). ".vst" for example. Waves plugins are .bundle files. AU used to be called "components", hence .component for AU plugins.
