Good idea !!! I just edited the post.
The "bundle" link is now at the start of the post.
Anyone who is visiting the post will have the option
to download the bundle in FULL, or, they can download each
individual file separately if desired.

Tod,
Thank you for the tip... This was a big help !!!
I just opened an account there. The files can now be downloaded as a bundle at post one.

Thanks!
However I do not get the meaning of this quoted instruction. The impulses are stereo, so where should I mono them?
Not in the plugin pin connector I guess???

Hey urednik, don't worry about it, it's how most convoverbs work if they're not in True Stereo Mode. It just means the signal coming in is mono and the signal going out is stereo.

Ok, I get it, but where is this setting supposed to be?
I simply put a Reaverb VST on MASTER and choose file, disable normalising, set dry wet? And?

You have to select the file by browsing to where ever you put the wave file impulses that you downloaded.
( I simply put a Reaverb VST on MASTER and choose file) when you chose File it should hae given you the chance to browse for the file.

Huum maybe I'm not understanding you. Other than loading the impulse there should be no setting other than what you see in the ReaVerb dialog box. Unless you've put ReaVerb on a track that is not set up with 2 outputs, then it should have the right pin connections.

I'm sorry for the confusion urednik....
I now removed that information from the post because it was not important.
But, since that caused some confusion, let me explain and shed some light on the topic:
"Mono in --> Stereo out" is a reverb processing structure.
The only reason that I had mentioned this, is because that was the method
used to capture the stereo IR files.
Conclusion:
This has nothing to do with any settings that you need to make in ReaVerb.
When using ReaVerb, All you need to do is load the IR files into
the plugin and you are finished... (Nothing else is required).
A bonus tip when using ReaVerb:
I always recommend activating (checking) both the "ZL" and "LL" boxes in ReaVerb.

Very nice. Thanks a lot!
Unfortunately, I think that ReaVerb is parallel stereo only (I've hardly ever used it and may be wrong here, but if there is no setting to change it to mono to stereo then that's it). Reverberate LE is ps only but Reverberate CM has mono to stereo option. I don't know about SIR.
Cheers, Alex

I wanted to mention that Tod (here at the forum) teamed up
with me to create a PDF user guide for the VS8F reverb IR files.
.... Thank you Tod !!! ....
The guide now comes with the "bundle" download, or, you can
download the guide separately (see the first post of this thread for the details).
And, Thank you to everyone for the great replies in regards to the IR files.
I'm happy to see that you are enjoying these free reverb IR files.
Note:
- A special thank you to Tod for all of your help, ideas, and for
teaming up with me to create the PDF file user guide.
- Thank you to Bozmillar for the extra tool (SSIC) to add to my JS plugin collection,
and thank you for all of your help and information. Very much appreciated.
- Thank you to EpicSounds for the recommendations, help, and code modification.
- And thank you to everyone else here at the forum who shared their ideas,
answered questions, and helped to make this all possible during the development stages.

These are very nice but I have a ReaVerb vs SIR question/issue. When I use these inpulses in ReaVerb (all default settings) I get all kinds of crackles and distortion. When I use the same ones in SIR - quiet as can be. System is WinXP with 3G ram. Not that I have an issue with using SIR but I always try to use Reaper FX when possible to make it easier to collaborate with others. Any suggestions.

Try checking the box down in the lower right corner for LL. It stands for lower latencers or something like that, don't know for sure. I don't usually have problems but I had the same problem the other day and when I checked that they went away.

Try doing what Tod said (in the post above)...
Put a check mark (click on) BOTH the "ZL" and "LL" boxes in ReaVerb
to see if that makes a difference for your computer.
(These are latency/processing options in ReaVerb).
" ZL " = Use this option to enable zero latency: useful when tracking to monitor reverb levels.
" LL " = Use this option to use an extra thread to improve low latency performance.
******************************
About the MAX FFT setting in ReaVerb:
The default MAX FFT setting in ReaVerb is: "16384".
FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) filters are a complex mathematical topic.
Changing the FFT size changes CPU usage.
A lower FFT setting means a higher CPU usage, but spread more evenly.
Higher FFT sizes will consume less CPU but result in more latency.
FFT size will therefore affect performance and possible dropouts, but it
should not affect the sound itself.
If you don't understand it, you're probably best advised to accept the default setting.
******************************
I hope this information helps.
Be sure to let us know if you were able to solve the ReaVerb issue in your computer.

Awesome guys, thanks for all the suggestions. Tod's "LL" check did the trick. I haven't had a ton of time to test, but my quick comparison of various impulses with the "LL" box on vs off solves the issue so far. If I run into further issues I'll try some of the other stuff.

Thank you for this! I've recently given Reaverb a chance and have been more than mildly surprised. I really use it more than any other verb now so I appreciate the pointers, as do others here I'm sure.

How do I load IR files into reaverb ?
I just down loaded the Zipped bundle of the VS8F expansion boards. I open them up and see .wav files. Could you enlighten me as to how I get these imported into reaverb to use them. This is obviously my first time doing this procedure. A simple step by step would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance

- Load ReaVerb onto a track in REAPER and open it.
- Click on the "Add" button in Reaverb, then,
select "file" in the drop down menu.
- Select the folder that contains the IR files.
Next, select the file you want to use.
.... The file will load into ReaVerb and be ready for use.
A bonus tip when using ReaVerb:
I always recommend activating (checking) both the "ZL" and "LL" boxes in ReaVerb.

Must add my thanks again as just now getting time to work with these fine IR files. Read thru many posts but need to ask: How many of the VS8F files can be loaded and retained in ReaVerb?
Where is the preferred long-term Location for the four (4) Folders ?
When I select VS8F-1 and the first wav file, I get a dropdown menu showing all wav files in that Folder. Added other three (3) Folders, and ALL 3 appear in dropdowns when selected. Is this an 'intended' method of previewing?
