ReaSamplOmatic5000 Black Sample Button Won't Respond

Whenever I create a track with ReaSamplOmatic5000 and then click the black sampling button to hear the sound I imported, the black button acts like it isn't there. Only until I save the project, close it, then start it back up again will it work. If I wait around a little while it happens again and I have to do the same thing over and over.
