Default Double tempo and Half Tempo

Is there a clever way to double time or half time an item in Reaper?

I can manually do it by stretching an item with a mouse to a play rate of 2.0 or .5 but I don't see a script or key command for it.

I found a key command that reset any item to play rate 1.0. Sooooo, it seems like it would be quite easy to create a script to set the play rate to 2.0 or .5. If someone out there has already done it please let me know.

Perhaps try X-Raym's script:

X-Raym_Multiply selected items by X and adjust length.lua

Or for a faster (but less flexible) one-click solution, use a custom action that combines
1) "Set item rate to 1.0" (to reset the rate)
2) 12 repetitions of "Decrease/Increase item rate by ~6%"

Thanks Julian!!!

Is there a way to modify this script to process the item at a play rate of 2.0 without typing in the interager? And then one for .5?

That way we could simply set up a key command for half time and double time with less mousing and typing.

Default Correct me if I'm wrong...

I'm pretty sure there was a away you can change the tempo of an individual track channel. I was looking into doing this myself because sometimes my drums are half time to my synths or vice versa.

MMmm, not that i know of...

My suggestion:

Use these 2 Actions, made by me2beats, for changing to half time or to double time:

Script: me2beats_Set items length to 0.5 (stretch items).lua
Script: me2beats_Set items length to 2 (stretch items).lua

For availability of these 2 Actions in your Reaper Action list, you need to:
a) have the free Reapack installed:
https://reapack.com/
b) me2beats repository URL added in Reapack:
https://github.com/me2beats/reapack/...ster/index.xml
