Default Anyone used/using Calf Audio plugs?

https://calf-studio-gear.org/

If so, would you be kind enough to share your experiences?

Thanks

The GUIs don't work in REAPER because of older GDK and they are known to be buggy (officially NOT recommended by Ardour), but I messed with them anyway for a bit using Carla to host them so they did have their proper GUIs, and thought a few of them were pretty cool, but knowing they are prone to be buggy, I've never used any of them beyond playing.

Any app using a GTK library (GDK is part of GTK) older than GTK3 or higher will also be problematic for HiDPI screens. It will be TINY!

On the subject of HiDPI, the same goes for apps using QT toolkit versions under version 5.6. They will be TINY! :-)

Nice afterthought, I'll put that one into the memory bank as well!

Why not put audacity as a 'external' or secondary editor and use calf on that? This works fine for me - many calf plug ins are decent.

Thanks for the thought...however the guys above you in the thread are pretty clued in on this Linux stuff so at this point I'll just stick with that advice.

Later on when I have more personal experience, I may revisit them....as you say they do have some intersting plugs
