64 Bit replacement for plugins
Hi,
I want to switch from 32 Bit Reaper to 64 Bit Reaper. Also I only want to use 64 Bit plugins. For most plugins, that is not a problem, but actualy I use two plugins, I did not found any 64 Bit replacment possibility:
1.: VOS Ferris TDS
2.: VOS Rescue MK II
Does anybody knows some freeware 64 Bit plugins to replace these two?
Thanx

There are couple of other freeware saturators, but IMO nothing soundwise close to your selected plugins.
I would probably bridge these two plugs, if you like it, unless you're experiencing some technical issues.
I believe VOS plugs don't have any problems with embedded bridged UI (to don't have separate window for every plug instance)..
eg. FX browser / right-click on bridged plug / Run As / Embed bridged UI..

I haven't had any problems bridging 2-3 instances of Ferric TDS in my projects. Haven't used Rescue at all.
If you start to have problems with Ferric then you may want to consider Tonebooster's Ferrox or Reelbus. Only... they are not free.
However Epicverb and Nasty DLA don't bridge well for me. I bought Valhalla Vintage Verb because I couldn't find a free reverb as good as Epicverb. I like the Tal Dub Delays.

I ditched all Botsie's stuff when Density started making problems (was may favorite). Anyway, plenty of x64 saturation plugs: Voxengo Tube Amp (I think there's no saturation plug that I used that much), Nick Crove Tube Driver, Softube's Saturation knob http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=152135 (in case you missed the thread here it is with great instructions how to install it thanks to dub.matz (already in the 2nd post), Hornet Transistor, also one knob, not as good as the first one but maybe you'll like it, Klanghelm's IVGI, a must have plug, SGA1566 http://www.shatteredglassaudio.com/product.php?id=104 (you've probably never seen something so CPU hungry, but it sounds great, Melda has a pretty good wave shaper in its free bundle. No, tape listed, I know. Well I'm not a fan, but if you haven't got your "We'll give you a free plug for a fb like", this one works very good. How to get it: http://www.plugandmix.com/nfr/. nuff - I can't write anymore, but there's a bunch of plugs which can replace Rescue.
Cheers,
Alex

@insub: I use Valhalla verbs now for a long time (I am so lucky, they have 64 Bit versions of their plugins). They are great.
@Alex: Thanx for your links. I will check them

3 choices
1) bridge the bootsie plugins. I use his compressors this way. Works just fine for me.
2) alternative saturation plugins
http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2011...n-vst-plugins/
FWIW headcrusher looks like a decaptitator clone http://audio-assault.com/head-crusher.html
3) Buy TB reelbus (~$25) or TB essentials including ferox (~25) or klanghelm SDRR (~25)
I own and use reelbus and SDRR on every mix. Also Satson is an inherent part of my mix workflow.

So switch to 64 bit now complete ...
except the two VOS plugins. I did not find any plugin which can replace them (thanks for all the links. I have tried the most suggestions and some others). Such a shame, they are not 64 bit, but hey, they are free.
Bridging works fine here, no problems 'till now.

This was the single most useful solution to 32bit plugins opening all over the place in their own window when I recently migrated to using Reaper 64 ... all my older 32b projects now open in an orderly predictable manner in 64.
