Default phone midi apps?

I'm just wondering if anybody knows of any iphone or android apps that allow you to program midi and then export the midi files.

i don't need much in terms of control over midi, but velocity, notes, snapping to grid and swing, are basically all the options i would need. also some sort of variety of sounds, but they don't need to be that great.

what is important though is that you can export them in midi format to your computer.

or if you know of any other great apps for any smart phone that would be cool too.

ideally though, whatever i make on the phone i could use to make something better once i get back to reaper.

I recently bought Music Studio from the iTunes store. It is supposed to allow export of MIDI but I have not tried that yet. I have it on both my iPhone and iPad but I can't think using Music Studio on the small display of the iPhone would be difficult.

+1 for MusicStudio. iPad would be nicer, of course, but it's really not so difficult on the iPod Touch/iPhone. It exports MIDI perfectly, and it also hooks into the file sharing of iTunes so you don't have to use WiFi if you don't want to get the files over to your computer. All in all, it is a great app for sketching out a song to later be brought into your DAW.

NanoStudio is also a good one. Uses WiFI and its own desktop app for export. A couple differences between it and MusicStudio is that in MusicStudio, you choose an instrument from a list of usual instruments (bass, piano, guitar, cello, etc) and build an arrangement that way. In NanoStudio, there is only one synth (called "Eden" with different patch banks) and a drum machine, so is geared more for electronic, but you can certainly use it for a melody, etc. For track count, you are more limited in NanoStudio because you only get 4 tracks (which equal 4 instances of the Eden synth) plus a drum track. It exports the MIDI (or audio) too. And of course, because both export MIDI, you are not tied to the instruments it uses. Once you get the MIDI into REAPER, you can assign it to any VI.
