ha ha - so true on both accounts!

being able to use Melodyne will be huge for many of us - particularly since Melodyne had such a great sale on for Black Friday

Thanks a lot! I have just upgraded to melodyne studio yesterday!

Btw. here is a description of ARA-functionality:

Probably, you can directly use the note detection of melodyne to create midi parts (10.15 in video above).

awesome! So that copy of Melodyne Essential I got with my defunct copy of SONAR might just be useful after all!

It is great to know what devs are working on. I am not an ARA fan/user but I am happy as many users were requesting it. Wish you success.

Now you know what Cockos is all about.

Just so you understand what I'm mean: I bought 5.0 about 2 years ago. Since then, her's what they've added, from the top of my head:

- a notation editor
- a lot of improvements to the MIDI editor (still not perfect, but very usable now, compared to what it used to be)
- sub projects (the ability to include projects in a project)
- super powerful automation items, on par with the best out there
- half a dozen new audio stretching algorithms
- stretch markers to edit stretching manually
- non destructive spectral edition
- remote control via HTTP
- and now ARA

... and countless bug fixes and smaller features.
Yet the current version is 5.62, - the latest the greatest -, these are not even considered a MAJOR update. Meanwhile the community has added dozens of pro looking themes, SWS extensions, scripts, the Reapack packaging manager, hundreds of in depth tutorial videos and a great user manual.

ALL FOR FREE !

You get now why the Reaper users are the happiest users ?

Welcome aboard !

Oh well at least That Bloody Thread can now be safely left to putresce all by itself.

I dumped Studio One off my hard drive ages ago, but am now left wondering if the one-track Melodyne that came with it will allow me to finally see what all the fuss was about.

I also hope ReaTune can get Ara support. I sold my Melodyne that came with Studio One when I moved full-time to Reaper. If not, I can wait till they have a sale on Essential, but honestly, I'd rather ReaTune were able to do the job. I can dock it more effectively.

Default backwards compatibility?

You guys are great!
Right now I'm working at 6 projects with many instances of melodyne essential. I'm using the classic method of transfering audio with the vst3 plugin on the item. When the update arrives will they convert to ARA instances? Anything to worry about?

Cook, no cool, now having ARA out of the way, schwa can add mup text file export in 5 minutes. Thanks for adding best notation pdf export to reaper, all cubase film composers, including Hans Zimmer, will immediately throw their Cubase out of the window. Only for press appearance, they might start a computer screen in the background with Cubase on it, after the camera is switched off, back to Reaper with ARA and perfect notation pdf output, thanks to mup text file export, directly from Reaper, besides musicxml.

-ARA
-musicxml
-mup (text format export)

Hans Zimmer, if you read this, drink one more beer.

You really gotta cut the crap, man. And lay off the acid. HZ will never leave Cubase/Nuendo, because according to his ears it sounds the best for his mixes

From my perspective it'll be a game changer when they add MIDI support to ARA some time in the future.

Ok, let's put StudioOne back in the drawer

Thanks Devs, let's test it thoroughly. It would be great if 1) it were transport-aware and 2) the multitrack options on the Studio version could be used as well (like having tracks superimposed for guides and select/move to tracks within Melodyne).

EDIT: The GIF shows Melodyne but the title of the thread talks about ARA support in REAPER. Does this mean VocAlign might take advantage of this implementation as well?

EDIT2: Please let Celemony know that it's about time to be included in the supported hosts list.

Default There used to be two reasons I opened S1....

Now there is only one. Please disregard the Mac OS related tantrum I had a few weeks ago. All is forgiven, This is just extraordinary news. The Reaper devs are also going to find out cool ways to use certain native plugins if they were ported for ARA. As it is, getting deep Melodyne integration is going to be just awesome!

Perfectly off-topic and annoying message in this thread.

ARA Has been requested by lots of users, mup just by a single one and immediately depreciated by several others. So no way at all.

This is very nice.

I also don't have any ARA-plugins, at least that I know of, and my knowledge is next to nothing with it, but as said before I'm very happy to see this reaction in people regarding this news. I too remember that in Sonar you could do something with Melodyne Essential and ARA.

Is there some sort of list of ARA-compatible plugins and can somebody tell more precisely what one can do with this ARA? Is it audio only, no MIDI? Quick googling gave very limited information, just in case I too would be interested more in this.
