Default New Song - Blues/Rock

Hi All,

I'm *still* working my around Reaper, especially on the mixing side and would appreciate anyone taking a stab at mixing my song. It's a blues/rock instrumental. Here's the particulars about the gear I used:

- Engnater Tweaker amp for solos
- Guitars used: Les Paul Standard (solos), MIM Strat/MIM Tele (rhythm)
- Drums: Pearl Masters Custom Maple kit
- Mic's: SM57 for guitars, Audix for drums
- Scarlett 18i8 audio interface

The only thing I've done so far was add some compression to the guitars.

Also, I'm using the middle pickup on the Les Paul (neck/bridge pickups are about 7), however the final recording has the solos sounding *really* darker than they sounded while I was recording. This is my first attempt at recording my amp as well.

Anyway, any feedback or attempts at mixing is really appreciated!

Thanks much,
Dale

Hi
300+MB is too much. Render it to mp3 or something <10MB

My bad. I thought people needed the Reaper source files. Here's my song on Soundcloud:

Real drums! Nice drum sound but too loud and too dry compared to the guitars.
Guitar never seems to sound te same alone as in a mix!
I record DI signals and use amp sims. That's a blessing for me

Nice hearing real drums instead of a VST but yeah, I agree that they should be quieter in the mix. I don't think this style of music requires such "in your face" drums.

cheers
