Default Reaper bug or macOS bug? (SOLVED)

I'm trying to get rid of some plugins.

It all works perfectly for VST but not AU.

If I remove plugins from the components folder (where Mac stores AU plugins) and cache and re-scan they still show up. At first I thought it was a certain developer but I've found the behavior with 2 developers. I'm on Ventura 13.2 not the newest 13.3

Same for you?

Default Reboot

You may have to reboot the computer.
I had the same problem with Logic. The damn corrupt plugin did mess up the launch of Logic all the time.
A simple reboot did the trick.

Apple Silicon.

Shutting down fully then turning on, then opening Reaper cache and re-scan did the trick!

It probably has to do with that in Reaper there's no way to rescan AU plugins in preferences but I imagine that in it of itself is a weird Apple thing.

Otherwise it seems you have to have Logic to scan AU plugins. Just sharing as info, as I'm all set! Thanks

Default os

No, it is not Logic who scans for the plugins, it is MacOS that scans the AUs and involve them into the Mac audio system from where Reaper has access to them.
When deleting a plugin from the components folder the MacOS still keeping it in the system until reboot. It has been annoying to me, but after learning it is working.
