Default Edirol/Roland MIDI tutorial booklet

Went looking for the old one for someone and found a NEW improved version here:

http://cdn.roland.com/assets/media/p...CUS01_MIDI.pdf

A great introduction to MIDI.

I'm using Roland Sound Canvas VA (VSTi)...
And I'm really trying to figure out how to create my own multichannel midi sessions,
using Bank/Program settings. However, all the ReaBanks I'm seeing and the GM info I see everywhere isn't making clear enough to me.
I wish I could find an easy way or ReaBank that has the Instruments laid out like they are in the Sound Canvas VST.
Also, I can load midi files in from other songs online, and they have the drum bank set already, yet I see no information for the GM bank/progam values for those kits (Ch 10).
Like this is all so vague.
