Default 41TWIN song for May 23, 2022

A song I wrote about our sink and my wife.

I'm concerned about if the bass comes across too much. Or basically comments on mix are welcomed. I remixed this one so much that I got to the point that I have no clue any more. LOL. You might not be able to tell I worked so hard on it. But I did, more than other ones. LOL.

Goofy. I like it. So, which parts of the song are about your wife and which are about the sink? Or are they all about both?

Regarding the mix: I like the bass and wouldn't change it. I'd recommend a bit of reverb on that piano so it rings out a bit longer. Also, the snare is a bit too loud for my taste in the "it was a rocky start ..." part. Other than that: Cool song and a good mix imo

The song starts very nicely with a growling bass. It sounds
a bit minimalistic, I like that a lot.

However, the connection between your sink and your wife is
not so clear ... mmmh? Both will probably make your days
better!

Overall a nice, minimalistic melodic song. Since the bass
is so important, I wouldn't turn it down. Great work, well
done!

This was a really nice listen, mellow and thought provoking with the play on lyrics. The lines were blurred between the subject matters and that worked for me.

The mix imo serves the song well. The bass sounds great round and warm and really forms a nice melodic foundation that carries the piece and all its elements along merrily.

Good stuff!

Thanks for the feedback!!!!! I really appreciate them.

I know a few lines are a bit like im not sure what the story is here. But everything I said applies to both my wife and my sink. Which is why I liked it. lol.

the rocky start was drama and some efforts to sabotage our relationship by her mother. Before we got married. The sink we discovered a significant dent after opening. And that was after driving an hour to a home depot in a different state cuz the 5 closer to us didnt have it. so then we go back to exchange it. they had 3 more in stock. i was smart and opened to inspect. all three had some kind of issue. but one of them had a small enough scratch we could live with. it the right price and shape and the small scratch was not enough to detract from its other qualities. the whole process was a pain.

Another cool song.
The lyrics was a big part of the listening experience.
Reminds me of when I heard Cake by The B52's and realize that you can write good lyrics about ordinary things.

Cool & crisp....and very creative. Song has a bit of a Caribbean feel to me. If you change anything, add some bongos.

Glad to know that your relationship with your sink worked out ok and that everything is going down smoothly.

Thank you very much guys. Im still trying to learn how to make everything sound good. its quite the adventure. its like do i buy more mics? try lots of different positions with the ones i got? throw my hands up and quit cuz as far as i can tell theres LOTS of really good sounding mixes and does it even matter to put another song in the world. etc. im guessing some of u go through the same questions.

my drummer and i are having too much fun to quit. i get a lot out of doing it. but i fight with negative thoughts about if its just a waste if time. anyways.... probably feels like im fishing for compliments which im not. i wear my heart on my sleeve a lot and overshare sometimes. but i gotta think some of you all have similar feelings.

we all do what we do for our own reasons. but its sometimes nice to know if youre not alone in the struggles. a lot of times i feel like ive got no control over a lot of things in life. so then its nice to have hobbies where u feel like youre controlling stuff. but then in writing songs and the end mixes feel like its some kind of more complicated mistress that im just along for the ride. lol.

lol, I can certainly relate to this, hence my user name and 'band' name.
