Default How do I fix this annoying snapping problem?

I have snapping on, but this keeps happening everytime I copy an item. It's super annoying and have been bugging me for years.

It could be that you already have an item that is a bit offset and when you move or copy other items it tries to snap to the start of that offset item. You might also have snap offset enabled. I can't remember off the top of my head how/where you disable or configure it, but I think it's if you right click on the Snap icon or in the item properties.

Okay, I found the problem. It's the option "snap media items to nearby media items # tracks away", if you right click the snapping icon. I honestly don't understand why I first found it now. Have been in that menu dozens of times and have overlooked it every time. Anyway, it's fixed now, so thanks.

FYI snapping settings get stored in the default project so it can just stay that way.
