Default Snap MIDI events to markers...?

Is there any way to get MIDI events to snap to markers?

I know this has been requested before, but maybe with recent version of Reaper this has been implemented, or maybe there is a work around?

The annoying thing is that even with snap turned off, MIDI events insist on snapping to the grid. And worse, even when holding down Shift, there is some kind of snapping going on and I cannot put the end of a MIDI event exactly where I want it (where the marker is). Is this really as it should be?

No-one knows...? I guess that it is not possible, then. Pity...

I am not aware of an option to snap to markers, unfortunately.

With regard to snapping with shift, are you referring to MIDI events that seem to snap to tiny, single-tick steps when you zoom in very closely? As per MIDI specifications, MIDI events can only fall on discrete tick positions, counted from the start of the item. So if your marker does not fall on a precise tick position, relative to the start of the item, the MIDI event and the marker will necessarily be very slightly (less than one tick) misaligned.

More info in Comprehensive ELP MIDI rounding problem thread (FIXED) and Error MIDI editor in Reaper (FIXED).
