any further info on this one?

on the subject, is there any way to specify "X window ALWAYS open on X monitor"
often my FX chain windows, when closed, will re-open on the wrong screen, and i have to drag it back.

same with the "add fx" window.

one can always correct it by recalling a screenset but that's kind of disruptive

what determines upon which monitor a window opens? afaict it's "whichever monitor upon which the screen was last closed, per track in case of fx chain" ... in my default project, if i close a track fx chain window (settings--only 1 visible at a time) and reopen another track's fx chain window, it will often open in the "wrong" place

maybe if i understood the logic a bit better i could solve this on my end, but if it's project/track specific that = a lot of opening and closing fx chain windows in a lot of existing projects, plus revising my default.

any advice/feature for multimonitor users who always want X screen to open on X window would be terrific.

may i please request that all floating windows do this, too? specifically the floating docker. i always have midi editors, media explorers etc docked, and occupying 1 dedicated monitor. they have no maximize function, and require the edges to be dragged to the limits of the monitor.

I'd love if I could also maximize a floating docker (if that's technically possible, I don't know).

Right now doubleclicking title bar does nothing and right-clicking -> Maximize is greyed out (Win 8.1)

Long time coming. I know someone must have come in their pants.

It'll be my turn with Preview functionality.

This release is causing audio dropouts during playback every 15-20 seconds or so. It basically just skips about half a second and then comes back to playback. I reverted back to pre4 and the problem is fixed.

FYI I'm using a mix of VST2 and VST3 plugins on Windows 8.1 x64.

For which VST3 plugins??
I still see no working VST3 sidechain in MCDSP plug-ins, Waves plug-ins, Softube plugins.

Also, is it possible to resize Auto-tune 8 to specified window size correctly when reopen the VST3 GUI (just like VST2)?

In a multiple monitors with different screen resolutions scenario floating FXs always resize according to the screen resolution of monitor #1. Even if the floating FX window is manually resized on monitor #2 it is back to its default setting after reopening. That does not happen if an FX is opened in an FX chain window.
OS: Windows 10, but it also happened on Windows 7.

BTW, the WASAPI loopback is brilliant.

Not mentioned but there´s a new folder in v5.01pre5, MIDINoteNames. That seems to be the default folder from where Reaper looks for the note name files for the MIDI editor piano keyboard.

Is this sends bug going to get fixed? Seems like a pretty glaring one. Thought it was only the default theme at first but it seems to be happening with other themes as well.

I think there are plugin issues too, at least with some IPlug-based plugins and Softube (heartbeat vst3?), but would you mind elaborating a bit? What is the problem exactly?

EDIT: erratum for Softube/heartbeat -- No sidechain actually, I was thinking to a different issue (this plug-in's output seems stuck stereo, it doesn't obey to our our setBusArrangements() requests...)

Is the "first bar" bug on hardware midi out in scope ? -- description --
Is the "loop ignored" when synced externally in scope ? (Was noted in pre 3)

Installer still needs to be in a windows defender exclusion zone otherwise it will take 5 minutes to load.

Haven't had any problems with the REAPER installer either on Windows 8/8.1 or now Windows 10.

Maybe installing using the "portable install" option like I do makes a difference, I dunno. It could be problems relating to permissions if using the normal install option and installing to Programs Files.

Might be worth a try doing a portable install and seeing if there's still a problem.

I only do portable installs and the problem is before choosing which kind of installation.

The installer doesn't even start until windows defender decides it's safe. It can take up to 10 minutes. If you add an exclusion zone in windows defender for the folder where the installer is, it works without any problem. So windows defender is interfering for some reason.

OK so that's strange then,. because I don't have an exclusion for the installer folder and yet it starts as soon as I double-click on it.

No delay at all

Very strange... I don't do a portable install or have an exclusion set up for the installer in Windows Defender? Windows 8 - 10. Reaper is the quickest download and install in the west! I've installed just about every update, pre & rc since 2012...

Default shonky envelope/automation popup window

this could definitely use a look see. cant see the whole title of the parameter im selecting and there in some strange spacing behind each column. makes it difficult to select a specific freq band for example. atleast a scrolling title might help. ..
..altho it only seems to happen in the Take Envelope popup
