How to save your songs in reaper as an mp3 file?

Hi I want to save my song as an mp3 or wav file and put that file on my desktop. I want to be able to email the file to a friend. How do I do this?

Use the File, Render command to render mix to MP3 or WAV or anything else - see Chapter 18 of User Guide for full info about rendering.

I want to email my project to a friend, and Im trying to save my project as a wav/mp3 file that i can send but i cant figure it out. I tried file, consolidate, and set it to convert to wav and then i look on my desktop and its still saved as a reaper file, with a bunch of seperate wave tracks scattered around. How do I do this any help would be very appreciated!

I would second Nicholas' suggestion about digesting ch. 18 of the manual. There are some things about rendering that you should consider before letting your work get in the hands of someone else.
