Default I got Id - pearl jam cover with female background vox

http://www.jasonbrianmerrill.com/mus...idwithjill.mp3

I really have to work on these things:

bass sound? - could it be more present?

background vox... i need to find a better harmony for my gf to sing there - the one i already have seems slightly static...

any ideas?

I just figured me and her would start on some covers, we also have recorded some vague melodic ideas...

bought her a guitar recently... hopefully that works out...

Pretty cool

Maybe we don't hear her enough tho...

She sings in the same range as you so maybe get her to sing a 3rd or 5th higher...

After the intro, sounds really great. Excellent vox, and the female vocalist really nails the harmonies. Together you are really pretty impressive. Also, instrumentation after the intro is very good, and I like the mix. About that guitar during the intro though - it really detracts from the song to my ear. I suspect that you are trying to sound loose and relaxed. But the guitar is a little out of tune and I think that you relaxed to the point that maybe the playing feels a little sloppy. Probably a taste thing, but if it was my recording I'd re-do the intro guitar and try to bring it up to the quality of the rest of the song. New strings on the guitar might help. Could be that old strings caused the tuning issues.
