Undo doesn't behave correctly when trim is enabled.

Copy selected area items,
Paste,
Undo,

* Duplicate selected are of items
* Move duplicate of item to edit cursor
* Move duplicate of item under mouse to edit cursor

Thanks, seems to be working perfectly.

Would it also be possible to make dragging via copy obey the current time selection if it's longer then the selected items (right now it only obey time selections that are shorter than the selected items) so that the copy could include automation that's in the time selection but not between items. Similar to the way the action "Item: Copy selected area of items" works

I like the idea that I don't have to select the AI under multiple selected items so that it doesn't split into pieces when I Copy/Move the items THANKS! Though I have feeling some users will complain you just removed a feature! You can't win.

v5.941

v595pre12

v5.941 - Selected AI moves with items

Nice improvements.

It would be a good idea there is an option which give the possibility to automatically delete an automation item under an item when we delete an item.

I'm not sure that a new option is necessary:

In current versions, if the automation item is *selected*, it will be deleted along with the media item and everything else that is selected (whether or not "Envelope points move with media items" is enabled). This is consistent with other item-related functions: if an item is selected, the function is applied; if an item is not selected, the function is not applied.

That said, if "Envelope points move with media items" is enabled, it might make sense if envelope points -- including AIs -- are deleted along with the media items.

It would me more complicated, because, we shoud to display envelope tracks. Plus, it could be compasated the lake of AI actions (for exemple : there is no action to select all AI on a track).

Yes, it's true.

But I don't use any more "Envelope points move with media items" because from time to time, we can move item on an another track to test some new arrangement possibilities. The issue is than, sometimes, envelope automation/automation item below the item can unintentionally modifie VST which are on the track where the item has been moved.

So, "envelope points move with media item only on the same track" should be a good idea, for me.

Agreed.

At the moment, Ctrl+leftdrag to "Copy selected area within time selection" handles AIs and non-AI points differently, neither correctly:

* Non-AI points that fall inside the time selection but outside the item boundaries are ignored.

* In contrast, entire (selected) AIs are moved, even parts that extend outside the time selection. Ctrl-dragging the AIs themselves, do trim correctly

(P.S. This GIF is from an old thread, so please ignore how the AIs lag behind the mouse position - that bug has been fixed.)
