Default Help with rendering

Hey everyone.

Just finished my first track with reaper, recorded @ 96k/24 bit. Tried to render the mix to a CD-format .wav file. No matter what settings i render with (including keeping it at 96/24) the final product sounds like there's a low-pass on it somewhere around 12k (it should mentioned that the mix does not sound that way.) anyone have any ideas?

thanks for your time,
-quincy

If it were me, I would try rendering to a 16 bit .wav file (not the CD image) and see if the same problem occurs

Could be a plug-in causing this. Not all plug-ins like rendering faster than realtime and need to be rendered in "1x offline" or even "online" mode. Please also try checking "Inform plug-ins of offline rendering state" in Preferences->Plug-ins->VST...Compatibility settings. If all fails, there's still File->Save live output to disk (bounce)" you could try.

Other than that, you could only remove/bypass FX chains, starting with the master track until the problem disappears, then figure out which plug-in in the chain is causing the trouble.
