Default [Render Queue] - Save Render Queue

Adding the ability to save a render queue (to a preset?) would be an awesome feature for re-exporting assets from Reaper.

Countless times I queue up multiple renders and then discover post-render that I have made a mistake somewhere, meaning I need to create new renders and add them to the render queue over and over, which potentially very time-consuming!

Cheers!

You can ask in the script-forum, whether someone could make a backup-script for the queued-renders.

Reaper adds the queued-projects as regular projectfiles into a folder in the Ressources-Folder/QueuedRenders (or something similar like that, can't check right now).
Just backup them before processing the queue and you can restore them easily.
You would just need to copy the backupped files back into the QueuedRenders-folder.

You would need to reopen the Queued-Render-dialog, if it's currently open, to see the queued-projects reappear after copying the backupped files.

Nice funfact: You can even alter the queued-render-projects by opening them in Reaper, changing what you need and saving them again. That way, you can fix even bigger problems.

Interesting about the .rpp files, that might be one avenue to explore.

It would also be even nicer to have that as part of the Render Queue UI, also being able to edit that render's settings post adding to the queue. Again if you make a mistake, how do you go back in and edit easily?

Assuming you have backupped the rpp-files of the render-queue before you process the render-queue:

They are normal rpp-files. You open the problematic one in the backup, just like any other project, change the render-settings or whatever went wrong, and save it again.

Then copy the changes projectfile into the QueuedRenders-folder.

That's it.

That way you can also choose, which files to rerender, if only some produced wrong renders. Just copy the ones with the corrected settings.

This is also a great example to see, how systematical Reaper is. You even can influence the way Reaper handles the render-queue in many ways you like and correcting mistakes.
That in combination with a good script and you have more control over it.

Again, ask in the Scripts-forum for a script which could handle that. I can imagine, there are many more who could need more control over the render-queue and backup-possibilities with a nice gui.

ok, I'll send a request over to the scripts forum too, thanks!
