Default Imperial theme

I downloaded Imperial theme but I can't seem to get it to work. I have the most updated version of Reaper, but I drag and drop Imperial - even moved it into my theme folder, and nothing! Help please!

i think all you have to do is double click it. maybe reaper should be running first but i dont think it matters.

One thing you may try... if you haven't yet... and it is something I had to do for some strange reason.
Turn the reaperthemezip file into a ZIP file and extract it. Just add a dot/period . before the 'zip' in the file name. Then copy or move the theme folder and file to the REAPER/ColorThemes folder.
I have had this problem with a few themes but not all of them. Have no idea or reason why. But in the end I get the themes working this way which is all that really matters.

After you put it in your Color Themes folder (in Windows), did you open Reaper and look under "Options/Themes"?

I have tried searching for these, but nothing obvious seems to come up. Could someone please provide some links? I cannot get this theme to install, either. Here is what I have tried:

FYI, I am fairly new to Reaper and I am running Reaper v4.261, 64 bit on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. I have 2 1920x1080 monitors.

I downloaded the file from White Tie's site and extracted the files. I see 2 files, one looks like a t-shirt with a Reaper logo on it and the file name is WT_Imperial and the other is a file folder filled with all the graphics called WT_Imperial.

As mentioned in other posts, I double-clicked on the WT_Imperial t-shirt looking file and it launched Reaper, but what is showing up does not look anything like the screen shots of Imperial. It looks very similar to the Classic_4.x theme. I still went ahead and followed his instructions about changing the items in Options/Preferences/Appearances menu.

I then tried to drag and drop the theme file into an open window in Reaper. Still nothing changed.

Then someone mentioned dragging and dropping the t-shirt looking file (which I know is the theme file) in the ColorThemes folder in Reaper which I did. Still looks like the Classic_4.x theme.

When I go under Options/Themes, the only 4 theme options are Default, Default_3.0, Classic_4.x & Classic_3.x. Nothing with the name WT_Imperial shows up even thought it is in the ColorThemes folder.

I even tried deleting the WT_Imperial theme file, making sure the WT_Imperial theme file wasn't anywhere in the REAPER folder in the Program Files folder, and going to Options/Preferences/Theme Editor and loading the theme from there. Still the ol' Classic_4.x looking theme.

I am at a loss. Since I am new to Reaper, I am REALLY hoping there is something obvious I have missed... This just doesn't make sense.

One last note: I can't see how this matters since the files showed up, but the extraction/unzip program used was jZip.

Someone please help me figure out how to get this amazing theme loaded and working!

Thanks in advance for your help,

Jason

Which is where you went wrong Just double click the .ReaperThemeZip file.

It is possible you might have left conflict problems in your ColorThemes folder because your efforts have left extracted remnants of the theme there. If so, clear that stuff out, if not then don't worry about it.

If a theme is a .ReaperThemeZip, and you're not using a mobile installation, you do not need to:
  • Extract anything
  • Do anything in preferences
  • Select anything
  • Do anything except double click the file

I tried this and everything looks just as I hoped! Thank you White Tie for the help and for making a truly stunning theme that is anything but pants! (I just love your slang across the pond!) I just love an easy fix!

As I mentioned before, I am still new to Reaper and was hoping to get the links to the threads that dig deeper into this theme and its use that Ivansc mentioned earlier in this thread. When someone who knows has a minute, can they please post them. I would be most appreciative as the search function isn't leading me to them.

Thanks!!!
