Default Strange automation curves

Hi guys,

Hopefully you can help me out. I am trying to write automation by using faders (korg nanokontrol2). For some reason I am getting very spikey automation. I am moving the faders smoothly, but out of the blue it creates spikes and dips, which I cannot explain.
Below you can find the screenshot of what it looks like. Can somebody help me?!

My guess is a bad fader. It's hardware and get worn. Did you test if the other faders/knobs produce the same error?
Alt. you got some other input trying to write at the same channel and time?

Which track automation mode (in Reaper) are you using?

Thanks for the replies :-)

I was working on Linux (ubuntu 18.04)
I noticed when using Jackctl in reaper, instead of alsa, I had better results. Also I noticed that maybe some host and midi automation were conflicting in kontakt.
Currently I switched back to windows for music production, and I am not experiencing any problems :-)

If there are any updates I will let you know!
